MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE To Guest Star On ABC's 'The Goldbergs'
February 5, 2020Tommy Lee, producer, author, drummer and founding member of MÖTLEY CRÜE, will make a special guest starring appearance in an upcoming episode of the ABC-TV hit comedy "The Goldbergs" on Wednesday, February 12 at 8 p.m. MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Home Sweet Home" is also the musical tribute for this episode.
In the episode titled "Preventa Mode", Barry Goldberg (Troy Gentile) takes his attractive college professor on a date for Valentine's Day. After losing her affection after the first date, he pays a visit to the head of her department, Professor Lee, played by Lee, to make sure dating a teacher is okay.
"I love doing this type of thing," said Lee about his guest starring appearance on "The Goldbergs". "I got to work with an amazing cast and crew, play dress up for a day and have a blast. And I gotta say, damn... those professor shoes were so comfortable!"
"Growing up in the '80s, I spent a lot of time watching MTV. I loved MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Home Sweet Home' video about missing your girlfriend while being out on the road," said Adam F. Goldberg, executive producer, "The Goldbergs". "It was one of the first rock ballads that starts off with a soft piano and kicks in with the full band. I'm so grateful Tommy agreed to have some fun with us in this episode. He was terrific."
"The Goldbergs" stars Wendi McLendon-Covey as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswalt as adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Troy Gentile as Barry Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia as Erica Goldberg, Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz, with George Segal as Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlin as Murray Goldberg.
Also guest starring is Shayne Topp as Matt Bradley, Matt Bush as Andy Cogan, Noah Munck as Naked Rob, Sadie Stanley as Brea Bee, Sean Marquette as Johnny Atkins, Natalie Alyn Lind as Dana, Matt Cornett as Andrew Gallery, and Miranda Cosgrove as Elana Reid.
Lee shared a clip of his appearance on the television show on his social media. "Professor Lee on @thegoldbergsabc next Wednesday! " he wrote in an accompanying caption.
"Preventa Mode" was written by Bill Callahan and directed by Vern Davidson. Adam F. Goldberg, Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Chris Bishop and Annette Davis are executive producers.
"The Goldbergs" is produced by Happy Madison, Doug Robinson Productions and Adam F. Goldberg Productions, in association with Sony Pictures Television.
